The Gelsi Bianchi Canyon

NATURALISTIC ITINERARY
"The Gelsi Bianchi itinerary, located in the territory of CiminĂ , is the result of Pino Antonini's persistent and decade-long idea, freely inspired by the famous book by Alessandro Gogna. Gelsi Bianchi has been a topic for Pino since at least 2009, a few kilometers of rock climbed by Alessandro Gogna at the time to rediscover the rock of the south, a new alpine dimension summarized in the tribute book that Gogna himself wants to give to a wild and then unknown region.
Explored with the modern canyoning technique in 2020 by Pino Antonini and friends, after the initial bolting by Natale Amato, we immediately completed the equipment to make it accessible to anyone who decides to travel it. For these three carefree hours, with a small group of eight people, it is convenient to leave the car near the Mulino del Principe and prepare to face about 200 meters of elevation gain through an old mule track that in half an hour takes us to take a path and then reach the riverbed of the stream. In the time of a curve, the itinerary already reveals all its beauty; you are literally captivated by the white granite sculpted and smoothed by water, practically covered by trees that well hide this wonder even from Google Earth.
A series of small but tight vertical sections begins immediately, seasoned with toboggan slides, small descents on ropes, and some millimeter dive into fairly clean and inviting pools. The play of light filtering through the walls makes it a real playground, not at all difficult, never boring, with the exit below 200 meters above sea level. The sensation remains that of a hostile gorge with hypnotic charm that, on one hand, defends its treasures and, on the other, welcomes anyone for its simplicity, provided they are equipped and with a smile on their face."
