Pleasant loop walk on the Zomaro plains (from the Greek meaning marshy), a thousand meters above sea level, within the Aspromonte National Park. Starting from the location "Piano Stempato," along paths and dirt roads that cross vast beech forests and coniferous woods, we will pass near the archaeological excavations that brought to light a fort from the Magna Graecia period, of particular relevance. We will then proceed towards the Zomaro village and continue until reaching the Acqua Bianca spring. Along the path through these wonderful woods, you will reach Lake Crocco, or Zomaro's small lake. The name Crocco derives from a flower, the Bulbous Crocus. According to Greek mythology, the beautiful Crocus fell in love with the nymph Smilace, who was the favorite of the God Hermes; in an uneven battle with Crocus, the God transformed him into a bulb, forcing him to live underground. Here, we will take a walk around the lake, interspersed with a short detour towards the Guardia ridge, allowing us to enjoy a view of the western side of Aspromonte. Finally, following small sections of the brigand's path, we will return to the starting point.

The Boschetto Fiorito Association takes its name from the legend that the name of the village would come from the Greek "Antos Nemos," which translates, indeed, to "Blooming Grove." The objectives of the Boschetto Fiorito Association include the enhancement and rediscovery of this ancient Aspromontan village through various means, including widespread hospitality that conveys the true essence of the village and allows experiencing the real Borgo in all its facets. We have designed various hiking routes starting from the historic center, providing an opportunity to see the natural, historical, and archaeological wonders in the Aspromonte National Park.
